Time for my Happy Dance!!!

I passed my finale hurdle! I was informed Friday, that I'm on board at KWSO TV Channel 7 In Lawton Oklahoma. My orientation is Monday at 8:30am, to sign paper work, & set up insurance... This is something I never thought I'd be doing, working in TV broad casting. It will combine 2 things I love, News & Computers! Now If I could just hit all 6 numbers in the lottery, my week will be complete.

I was hired as an Electronics Engineer to help repair all the systems, but I need to know how to run all the equipment in the TV station. So I will be training as a Cameraman first, then I will go to Video editing, then to master control. I hope to get out on some remote shoots during my training, That will be fun! Who says that a Hobie can't pay off, all my time Editing home movies, and playing with computers is now going to be making me a living... Not to bad for someone that is completely self tought!!

From what I understand I'm being thrown into the mix head first, The morning news broadcast is the hardest to due, and the most important of the day.(No pressure!)Just don't fuck up!, Is what I was told...LOL! The hours will take some getting use to, 4:00am to 12:30pm, this means I will be getting up at 2:00am (I need my coffee!) to be to work on time. Then a few days a week I'll be working a split shift, 4 hours in the morning, and 4 hours in the evening. Then every 3rd Sunday I will be on call all day. Damn I hope I'll have time for a Beer in between all that...LOL! Well need less to say I'm excited, and looking forward to getting started! Thats all for now, I'll try to post again on Monday.

Slip Sliding Away

OK, Monday is here again time for the update. I had yet another interview Friday, this was the longest interview I’ve ever had in my life, almost 3hrs… I don’t think it was suppose to be that long, halfway into the interview everything changed. I applied for one job, next thing I know I was being told of 2 others that might be rite for me… Then I was introduced to another department head, and asked a few questions, about Electronics. I was given the tour of the place, and introduced around. So all in all I think it went well, I hope to hear something this week!

Last week I got to try something new, driving on iced up roads, this was a learning experience! I don’t think you really drive on ice; you just try to manage the severity of the slide! My friend Karla was rite; you just drive slow and watch out for the other people. Some of the other drivers are Crazy; it was like watching bumper cars on ice! I also learned that doing a u-turn is not an easy task on ice, no matter which way I turned my wheels I went straight, Then when my truck did decide to turn, I did a 360…LOL! I’ve decided driving on ice is a lot like dancing when your very drunk, it’s never pretty but it can be done. And as long as everyone else is drunk, no one gets mad when you bump in to them…

If you have not noticed, in my friends list you will see a new listing. I’ve started a new blog called Tuea’s Tech Tips, where I will post how-to-articles. This new blog was started with my friends in mind, to give you the information you need to keep your computers running, and fix those little problems that pop up from time to time. The new blog will also have links to free software that will help keep your system safe, and running fast. Keep in mind I will not give a link to, or suggest a program unless I run it my self! I also will answer any questions you might have about your computer, just post it in the comments section on the ask me here article… When answering a question, I will post the question, followed by the instructions on how best to solve the problem. By doing this if someone else you know has the same problem, all you have to do is E-mail the article to him or her. I have placed an E-mail link at the bottom of each article, just click on the envelope in the lower left corner to send it to a friend… Well thats about all for now, till next week…
