Block that web site

Monday is here again… And my Microsoft office is back up and running, I had a back up copy of Office 2000 in my software collection. It’s not as Hi-tech as Office 2003, but it works! In my last 2 posts I’ve warned about a nasty Virus that is roaming the net looking for it’s next victim. I forget that some of my friends are tech challenged, and require detailed instructions on how to block a web site. So here we go, I’m going to assume that most of you are using Internet Explorer, this will work in IE6 or IE7. Open your web browser, look for the Tools tab, click Tools, then go down to Internet Options and click here. Now you should have a window open with tabs along the top, click on the Security tab, in the top row you will see Restricted sites click this once, now click on the sites button. A new window will open, in the blank line type 82.98.235 (this will block all IP’s from this server) now click the Add button, and then close at the bottom, now click ok at the bottom of the Security tab and you’re done! This setting tells your Browser it is not allowed to open this web page, or accept in bound packets. Just a little side note, you can use this trick to block any web page you want. If your kids are visiting a web site you don’t like, just enter the web address in to the blank line, and it is gone! This works well if the kids are grounded from My Space, or Face Book they will just think the server is down…LOL! To get the web page unblocked do all of the above, but instead of typing a web address, scroll through the list, till you find the page you wish to unblock, click it once to high light, then click the remove button. Now the web page will work in your web browser…

Location of Spyquake2

It would appear that the virus I identified last week is spreading throughout Germany. I'm noticing a significant uptick in the number of hits on Google identifying the IP address. Somebody has also given it a new name, it's now called Spyquake2. So some progress is being made in the identification and location of this virus. It would appear that this virus has also spread to a new server located in California, it appears to be on the BellSouth network at this point. My only suggestion at this point, is the installation of a second firewall to monitor your inbound and outbound ports, blocking any and all traffic, except what you have initiated. Don't depend on Microsoft's simple firewall to protect you this virus cuts right through it like a hot knife through butter! Below you'll find all the information that I have on this server. If you're reading this, and you happen to live in Belgium and the phone number listed as a local phone number for you, would you please contact these people, and tell them to please do a clean install on their server to get rid of this. The exact IP address for where the virus originated from is 82.98.235.63. Also once again I'd like to ask people to please blocked this IP address.

Can I get a Flu shot for my Computer?

OK, time for that weekly update… Not to much to report on the job front, I’m still looking. But so far no real bites to speak of... The only trouble I've run into this week, was a very nasty Virus that infected my computer. This thing tried to take over my system! The only Virus scan that even saw it was AVG, and it was unable to vanquish it! It would appear it is a new version of the Lop C Virus. AVG identifies it as Lop QA , It is located in ( C;\Document and Settings\ your name\ local settings\temp ), It exploits old IE5 files & Reg keys remaining on your machine. In the Reg you will find it listed as C-Dilla or Funksoft,, and when you delete it from the Reg, all you do is Piss it off!…. LOL. Then it just infects all your system drivers at once! It will also build 2 add-ons in the new IE7 Platform, look for (iifebxv.dll & mllmk.dll), if you should find either of these entries in your add-on manger for IE6 or IE7 disable them Fast! I also did a Trace on where the Virus was reporting to, It is a Server in Belgium, at (82.98.235.63), the Virus is collecting pass words, credit card numbers, and banking info. It is my hope that no one still uses Microsoft password manger , this is the first file it transmits home. Leave it to Microsoft to release a new program, that has more holes than Swiss cheese. After fighting with the Virus for 2 days, I gave up & did a full system wipe, reinstall that was the only way to clean it out. I run backups every week so I did not lose any thing important, but I did lose my Microsoft Office 2003, I’ll miss that Program! That was the only Program I had , that was on a Bulk license form a friends company. So I will have to make due with Microsoft works till I can upgrade to Office 2007.

Hurry up and wait!

Hurry up and wait! They say waiting is the hardest part, boy are they rite! I applied for a job at a locale TV station last Thursday, they are looking for an engineer to maintain there computers, and electronic equipment. I had forgotten that this past weekend was Veterans Day, so I’ve been stuck for 3 extra days waiting for a reply… I’ll be giving the TV station Human resources department a call today, wish me luck! If for some chance I don’t get the position, it’s back up on the High way to make some more money. At least I know where there are trucks and drivers there is Porn that means computers with Virus’s, which means I make money! It is a vishes cycle, but one I profit from… The little Motel I’ve been staying at is filled with some very nice people! The owner of the Motel has been having some computer trouble, but I think I’ve got him fixed and back up and running. I don’t know who is in charge of the local network servers around here, but they need to be fired! The internet provider’s server is full of some nasty Virus’s, the minuet you log on to the Net work you are inundated by Spy ware! A fire wall is not a luxury here, it is a necessity! In fact I would recommend running your internet connection through a router with a fire wall, then in to your computer with a soft ware fire wall.

The end of the soap box Derby

My friend Karla has graciously kicked the soapbox out from under me, and I think perhaps she was right to do so. I'm sure it'll take a little bit of time before the new Democrats in office will piss me off enough, that I have something to say about their incompetence. And I'm sure it will only be a matter of weeks before they managed to accomplish this goal. Well, recently, I had the privilege of visiting Oklahoma, and from what I've seen it's quite a beautiful state. Of course I did notice one thing that was very interesting, everybody in Oklahoma seems to be a sooners fan. And to think all this time, I thought Karla was the only sooners fan out there, boy was I wrong!... LOL
Well, for those of you who were probably wondering, yes, I am already out on the road. Traveling, seeing new places, and meeting new people, fixing computers along the way. As a matter of fact, the little motel I'm staying in tonight, has some problems with the location of a wireless router I've been asked to help re-cable and relocate the router to a more central position. I've also discovered while driving cross-country truck drivers seem to have the most problems with their laptops, I guess with some of these long-haul truck drivers. There's not much to do in the cab of the truck except look at porn. And let me tell you some of these computers are porned up good! It's my personal hope that their viewing the porn while there stopped in the evening taking a rest, and not watching it as they're doing 75 miles an hour down the interstate. I realize some of these truckers are very talented behind the wheel of a vehicle, but manipulating the truck, a laptop computer, and yourself at 75 miles an hour, I believe is beyond anybody's ability, no matter how talented they are! But I'm sure some of them have tried...
One of the saddest things I've seen on my trip so far was my stop over in New Orleans these people are stil hurting, their Superdome is back up and running it looks quite beautiful but the rest of the town is in shambles. I drove all through the ninth ward, through downtown New Orleans, and the French quarter. The French quarter looks like it's been cleaned up, But not much else has been done to help these poor people. And don't even get me started on the condition of the roads, Louisiana has some of the worst roads I have ever driven on in my life! I was absolutely amazed the minute I crossed the Louisiana Texas border, the roads in Texas are a thousand times better than the roads in Louisiana. Well that's all for now signing off from Wichita Falls Texas...

1 down several more to go...

It is amazing how much things can change in one day! Retired military leaders have been calling for Rummy's head for 2 years, and to think all it took was the people standing together and in unison saying your fired to numerous Republicans. It would appear that our Tin eared president heard us loud, and clear this time as We the People spoke in unison! But lets not get to excited the guy George has selected to replace him is as bad, if not worse than Rummy. Robert M. Gates has been asked by George to step into the roll of defense sectary, this man was involved in the Iran Contra arms dealings with Lt. Col. Oliver L. North. Who the hell is helping George pick these people? It's like they think we are brain dead, and have forgotten who and what this Robert M. Gates is about. At this point I'm very surprised Bush has not asked Henry Kissanger to accept the office of defense secretary. Wouldn't that be all sorts of fun, with Henry in office it would be just like old times! Maybe while we are at it we could bring back Tye die and love beads... But my all time favorite thing from the Kissanger era was the use of national guard to stomp the shit out of the anti war protesters! Aw those were the good old days! well enuff reminiscing, I have Just read a story that said Dick Cheny's might be the next head to roll. Could it be true, Is Bush really cleaning house? And who will replace Dicky boy? Stay tuned, the next week or two will be very interesting!

Finally the Elections are over! But now the law suits start… all though the people have spoken that is never good enough, now the Repugnants will say the voting was rigged. They are just mad that this time it was not rigged in there favor! I hope many of you voted the same way I did, by absentee paper ballet. I have no faith in the Black Box voting systems made by Diebold or Sequoia; I will never use one again! As I watched the Election results this morning on CNN I was happy to see Nancy Pelosi Call for Donald Rumsfelds’ removal from office, and new leadership installed in his place! I’m sure all branches of the Military will be very happy to see Rummy hit the bricks. And maybe if we are lucky the MP’s will escort him out the door in hand cuffs, push him into the back of a black SUV and deliver him to the water board interrogation facility! Hey I can dream can’t I…? Now on to the talking points on CNN this morning, all I heard was that the peoples Vote was a referendum on Iraq, Bullshit we the people were tired of Bushes Rubber stamp Congress! We the People are hoping that the Democrats will start calling Bush and his Cronies to task; we are waiting for the announcement of Impeachment proceedings! But I afraid all we will get for the next two years is a dead lock, with nothing of any real importance getting done, at the same time Bush will not be able to get any more Constitution killing bills through the house either…
