Block that web site

Monday is here again… And my Microsoft office is back up and running, I had a back up copy of Office 2000 in my software collection. It’s not as Hi-tech as Office 2003, but it works! In my last 2 posts I’ve warned about a nasty Virus that is roaming the net looking for it’s next victim. I forget that some of my friends are tech challenged, and require detailed instructions on how to block a web site. So here we go, I’m going to assume that most of you are using Internet Explorer, this will work in IE6 or IE7. Open your web browser, look for the Tools tab, click Tools, then go down to Internet Options and click here. Now you should have a window open with tabs along the top, click on the Security tab, in the top row you will see Restricted sites click this once, now click on the sites button. A new window will open, in the blank line type 82.98.235 (this will block all IP’s from this server) now click the Add button, and then close at the bottom, now click ok at the bottom of the Security tab and you’re done! This setting tells your Browser it is not allowed to open this web page, or accept in bound packets. Just a little side note, you can use this trick to block any web page you want. If your kids are visiting a web site you don’t like, just enter the web address in to the blank line, and it is gone! This works well if the kids are grounded from My Space, or Face Book they will just think the server is down…LOL! To get the web page unblocked do all of the above, but instead of typing a web address, scroll through the list, till you find the page you wish to unblock, click it once to high light, then click the remove button. Now the web page will work in your web browser…
