Welcome to the Soviet States of America

How many Laws must the powers that be Break, be for We the People rise up, and say No More! The Bill that was signed into law on October 16, 2006, (S. 3930, HR 6166 ) `Military Commissions Act of 2006' Is a direct attack on our Bill Of Rights!

I have listed below the some of the amendments to the Bill O Rights, that the new law Violates.

THE BILL OF RIGHTS

Amendment I:

Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the government for a redress of grievances.


Amendment IV

The right of the people to be secure in their persons, houses, papers, and effects, against unreasonable searches and seizures, shall not be violated, and no warrants shall issue, but upon probable cause, supported by oath or affirmation, and particularly describing the place to be searched, and the persons or things to be seized.


Amendment VI:
In all criminal prosecutions, the accused shall enjoy the right to a speedy and public trial, by an impartial jury of the state and district wherein the crime shall have been committed, which district shall have been previously ascertained by law, and to be informed of the nature and cause of the accusation; to be confronted with the witnesses against him; to have compulsory process for obtaining witnesses in his favor, and to have the assistance of counsel for his defense.


Amendment VIII
:
Excessive bail shall not be required, nor excessive fines imposed, nor cruel and unusual punishments inflicted.

Amendment IX:
The enumeration in the Constitution, of certain rights, shall not be construed to deny or disparage others retained by the people.

I have but one question...

How many people in your family will end up in concentration camps, be for you decide to fight back???

Hey...found you through Goober. I hadn't heard about this legislation--I'm not sure if it made European news. Was it enacted as an 'emergency measure', does it have an expiry date---or does it look to be quite permanent. I don't know how interested you are in the ACLU...but they probably have some petition that can be signed in protest.

Well isnt this just a swift kick in the ass! It used to be a Nation governed by the people for the people, now maybe I think we should have asked what people! The ones that we have elected into power seem to have very little understanding of what the "people" actually want. Why did so many people die in so many wars? was it not to protect our freedom our way of life, those simple things we have come to love that were granted to us by the Bill of rights. This is a tragic move by the president, the United States has not seen a civil war since 1865, it seems now that we are once again walking down the road to civil unrest!
